Here’s a Rundown of All the News & Events Coming Up in September!

September is here, and we’ve got plenty of exciting events, updates, and opportunities to share with you! From creative workshops to fun family days and community coffee mornings, there’s something for everyone. Plus, we’re taking a moment to look back at an amazing August full of smiles and connections.

New Volunteer Training – Starts 2nd October! 🙌

Our next volunteer training course starts on Thursday, 2nd October, and will run for six weeks at our office from 10am to 2:30pm. There will be no session on the 30th October, so the training dates are: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd October, and 6th & 13th November.

Becoming a Home-Start volunteer is an incredible way to make a real difference in the lives of families with young children. Through this training, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to provide meaningful, compassionate support helping parents feel less isolated and more empowered.

If you’d like to join, please email Eleni at eleni@homestartcamden.org

August Highlights

August was packed with fun and family-friendly activities! Our Annual Summer Picnic at Hampstead Heath was a huge success — we welcomed 38 adults (including 9 Home-Start volunteers) and 36 children for an afternoon of food, games, and laughter. A massive thank you to Franco Manca for their generous discount and free products, making sure our families had plenty of delicious pizza to enjoy! We also want to thank the wonderful corporate volunteers from Cripps, who helped us make the day extra special. The event was full of friendly smiles, tasty snacks, fun activities, and great vibes — we couldn’t have asked for more.

Throughout August, we also hosted four foodbanks in collaboration with The Felix Project and The Caring Family Foundation.Lending a hand and helping us continue to support families in need.

On 8th August, we held a special Feel Good Friday at the Parliament Hill Splash Pad. A perfect way to cool off and enjoy some summer fun!

Later in the month, on 15th August, we had one of our regular coffee mornings. Followed by a relaxing and creative Knitting Workshop at the office in partnership with Reformation Charity. Our mums loved learning a new skill, finding it calming and fun, and many said they’d love to do something like this again!
