Katerina
Hi, I’m Katerina! I’ve been working at Home-Start as an Admin and Social Media volunteer since February. Getting to know about Home-Start and the positive impact it has on the community has been such a fulfilling journey.
With my experience as an Assistant Manager and former student, I’ve been grateful for the opportunity to be involved with such a dedicated and welcoming team. From processing referrals, responding to emails, creating content for the Instagram page to keeping the office clean and organised – these are some of the many ways in which me and other volunteers contribute to the team at Home-Start. I’m thankful to be a part of such an inspiring community.
Monia
Hi everyone, My name is Monia. I have been volunteering at Home-Start since February providing admin support in the main office. I have not been at work in a very long time due to family planning, this is why I decided to do some admin voluntary work to gain some experience and get my confidence back.
Everyone in the Home-Start Camden and Islington team have been amazing and so friendly. They were very welcoming when I first started, which made it very easy for me to settle in and learn the basics of admin work very quickly. I look forward to gaining a lot more experience while working here. I am going to support this charity in any way I can and I hope I can make a positive impact during my time here.
Riya
Hi, I am Riya and I currently volunteer as an Admin Assistant at Home Start Camden & Islington. I have been with Home Start for over a year now and it has been a great opportunity to help the families in need.
Over a year, working with Home start team has taught me to show empathy and be kind to everyone. When learning about the family situations, it made me understand how much parents around us are suffering and charity like Home start is always there whenever needed. All the Home-Start Team has been really kind and patient towards me which represent the main purpose of the charity.
Desna
Hello! My name is Desna, I am retired after a career in university administration. Having recently become a grandmother I am reminded of what hard work having babies and small children is. I live locally and want to help support families in whatever way I can.
I currently work in the office one day a week doing general admin. I am hoping to do the Volunteer Training course later in the year.
Volunteering is at the heart of everything we do at Home-Start Camden & Islington. As a small charity, we rely on volunteers to help us support local families. From admin support to visiting families, every volunteer plays a vital role in our work. Their time and energy help us reach more families and keep everything running smoothly. Volunteering is about kindness, connection, and making a difference in someone’s life. For many families, a listening ear or friendly call can mean the world.
Volunteers also gain confidence, new skills, and a real sense of purpose. We are always happy to welcome new volunteers to our team. If you are interested in getting involved, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch to find out more about how you can help. Your time can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
