Paper Snowflakes
What you will need: Scissors, plain paper, or colored/patterned as you wish
Luckily you don’t have to be a professional at origami, nor do you need a lot of supplies.
You can cut any shapes you like into folded paper, as pictured below. Unfold the paper, and reveal your festive, home-made creation.
They are perfect for decorating your child’s window or creating bunting around any room you like. As well as a quick and easy craft to fill any spare time in your day.

Painted Baubles
What you will need: A bauble, paint/marker pens
I think most of us grab the same old box of Christmas decorations each year, out of a loft we hardly use. So why not let your kids do some DIY on that red bauble you have always hated the color of?
They could paint a Santa, a snowman, an elf; or anything that they find festive. This will also open an afternoon to hanging them together, as well as an annual tradition created.
Take inspiration from the internet, or you and your child’s favorite Christmas film character. Even do portraits of each other, or other family members and give them as gifts!
If you want something more sentimental with your younger children, why not try and squeeze a hand print in paint onto the bauble. Write the name and date; and there you have something to keep forever.
Christmas cards
What you will need: Card (colored and white), glue, scissors
This is a classic creation around Christmas time. It lets your children be imaginative in their designs, as well as sending greetings to their friends and family. The good thing about the craft is that it is a homemade gift, and can be made from any card, paper, or material you have at home.
Why not use some old Christmas cards you may have saved to cut out shapes and letters? Even use some scraps of wrapping paper and spare bows, to decorate them further?
These are perfect for a weekend craft, ready for Monday morning for your child to give to their friends at school. It also great for your child practicing their spelling and how to write in cards; with a special Christmas spin.
Why not give these quick and easy crafts a go with your child? I promise it will get you in the Christmas spirit!
