As the year comes to a close, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt thanks. None of the work we do at Home-Start Camden and Islington would be possible without the incredible support of our community. Your time, generosity, and belief in what we do make a real difference to families across Camden and Islington.
We would like to begin by thanking everyone who donated presents. Your generosity helped make Christmas joyful for so many families. Each gift brought comfort, excitement, and a sense of care, reminding us of the power of kindness.
A special thank you to:
, Abacus Nursery, Mace Group, Leiho, Kentish Town Sports Centre, Cripps, Reformation Charity, Julia Donaldson, and Scholastic. Your support helped make the season brighter for children and parents alike.
We are also deeply grateful to our incredible volunteers. You give your time with warmth, dedication, and care. Your support helps families feel valued, heard and connected. We could not do this work without you.
A heartfelt thank you goes to the outreach team of Friends of Home-Start. You have supported us in so many ways — recruiting volunteers, fundraising, collecting presents, giving your time freely, and raising awareness about Home-Start across Camden and Islington. Your energy and commitment have been invaluable, and we are truly grateful for everything you do.
We would also like to thank our Trustees. Trustees play a vital role in any charity, providing guidance, oversight, and strategic direction. Their leadership helps ensure our work is strong, sustainable, and focused on the families who need us most.
We would like to close by sharing a piece written by the Friends of Home-Start. It perfectly captures the spirit of community and generosity that carried us through the season:
The Carol Singing that Went Wrong (but also right)
A little late – a minor glitch
we differed as to where to pitch
with festive hats and good intentions
though fate brought several interventions.
Harmonic aspirations failed.
A gust of wind and papers sailed.
An unplanned pause as battery flat.
At one point Lynda lost her hat.We did our best though, brought our smiles
despite our buckling plastic files.
Towards the end we began to lag
to the strains of “Cyrus, where’s my bag?”
But still, our public was uplifted.
Without a doubt some joy was gifted.
So here’s to us and what we did.
Oh yes. We almost raised five hundred quid.
Thank you to everyone who supported Home-Start this year. Your kindness, generosity, and time have helped us create brighter, stronger, and happier families across Camden and Islington.
